Holistic Wellness & Development

Samagra kalyan aur vikas

Nurturing every child’s mind, body, and emotional well-being.

At Urjabodh, we recognise that meaningful development is not limited to academics or conventional therapy. Every individual has a unique combination of cognitive, emotional, sensory, physical, social, and creative needs. Our Holistic Wellness & Development services bring together complementary approaches that nurture the whole person while respecting individual differences, strengths, preferences, and developmental journeys.

Through a combination of structured interventions, creative expression, movement-based practices, and experiential approaches, we aim to create opportunities for *self-expression, emotional regulation, cognitive growth, sensory awareness, physical well-being, creativity, communication, and social participation*. Our services are thoughtfully adapted to the individual’s needs and are offered as part of a broader, multidisciplinary approach to development and support.

Play Therapy

Play is a child’s natural language. Through play, children communicate their experiences, explore emotions, develop relationships, and make sense of the world around them.

At Urjabodh, Play Therapy provides a safe, supportive, and engaging environment where children can express themselves through structured and child-led play experiences. Therapeutic play activities may include imaginative play, storytelling, role play, sensory play, games, puzzles, building activities, and creative exploration.

Play-based interventions can support emotional expression, communication, social interaction, attention, problem-solving, self-regulation, flexibility, confidence, and coping skills. Activities are adapted to the child’s developmental level and interests, allowing therapy to become an accessible and meaningful experience.

Cognitive Training

Cognitive development plays an important role in how an individual learns, processes information, solves problems, makes decisions, and responds to everyday situations.

At Urjabodh, we offer structured cognitive training through the Energia SOI (Structure of Intellect) Programme, an individualised cognitive development programme designed to identify and strengthen different dimensions of intellectual and cognitive functioning. The programme provides a structured framework for understanding an individual’s cognitive strengths and areas that may benefit from further development.

Our cognitive training focuses on skills such as attention and concentration, memory, perception, reasoning, comprehension, classification, sequencing, problem-solving, processing, planning, cognitive flexibility, and executive functioning. Through structured activities, games, visual tasks, and progressively challenging learning experiences, individuals are encouraged to develop effective ways of thinking and learning.

The Energia SOI Programme allows activities to be tailored to the individual’s developmental profile, making cognitive learning more personalised and meaningful. The emphasis is not simply on completing tasks, but on building skills that can be practised, strengthened, and applied across academic, social, vocational, and everyday-life situations.

Through our cognitive training approach, we aim to foster independent thinking, learning readiness, problem-solving abilities, confidence, and functional cognitive skills, while recognising and building upon each individual’s unique strengths.

Breathwork & Chanting

Breathwork and chanting provide structured opportunities to develop awareness of breathing, body sensations, attention, rhythm, and relaxation.

At Urjabodh, age- and ability-appropriate breathing practices and chanting activities are incorporated to encourage mindful awareness, emotional regulation, grounding, and calm engagement. Rhythmic chanting can also provide opportunities for participation, listening, imitation, vocal expression, and group engagement.

These practices are introduced gradually and adapted to individual comfort levels, making them accessible and supportive rather than performance-oriented.

Yoga

Our Yoga programme integrates movement, breathing, body awareness, balance, coordination, and relaxation in an accessible and developmentally appropriate manner.

Yoga-based activities may support gross motor coordination, body awareness, flexibility, balance, strength, attention, movement planning, and relaxation. Sessions can incorporate playful movement, simple postures, breathing practices, rhythm, and relaxation activities.

The emphasis is on participation and body awareness rather than perfection, allowing each individual to engage with movement according to their abilities and comfort.

Diet & Nutrition

Nutrition is an important component of overall health and well-being. At Urjabodh, our Diet & Nutrition services aim to support families in developing practical, sustainable, and individualised approaches to nutrition and healthy eating.

Nutrition guidance may address everyday dietary patterns, meal planning, food variety, nutritional adequacy, hydration, and age-appropriate eating habits. Where relevant, the individual’s developmental profile, sensory preferences, routines, and family context can be considered while planning realistic strategies.

Our approach focuses on helping families develop healthy and sustainable food practices rather than promoting restrictive or one-size-fits-all diets.

Art Therapy

Art provides a powerful avenue for expression, exploration, communication, and creativity, particularly for individuals who may find verbal communication challenging.

Through drawing, painting, colouring, clay, craft, collage, and other creative activities, individuals can explore their thoughts, feelings, interests, and experiences in a safe and supportive environment.

Art-based therapeutic activities can encourage self-expression, emotional awareness, creativity, fine motor skills, attention, choice-making, confidence, and engagement. The emphasis is on the process of creation and personal expression rather than artistic ability or the final product.

Dance & Movement

Movement can be an important pathway for expression, connection, coordination, and self-awareness. Our Dance & Movement sessions use rhythm, music, structured movement, and creative dance to encourage active participation.

Activities can support gross motor coordination, balance, body awareness, motor planning, rhythm, imitation, attention, social interaction, and self-expression. Individuals are encouraged to explore movement in ways that feel comfortable and meaningful to them.

Dance also provides an opportunity to experience joy, creativity, confidence, and connection with others through shared movement experiences.

Music

Music offers a naturally engaging way to support communication, attention, memory, emotional expression, rhythm, and social connection.

At Urjabodh, music-based activities may include singing, rhythm games, percussion, movement to music, musical imitation, and interactive music-making. Activities can be adapted to different developmental levels and sensory preferences.

Music provides opportunities for individuals to listen, respond, initiate, take turns, follow patterns, express emotions, and participate in shared experiences, while making learning and engagement more enjoyable.

Storytelling

Stories provide children and young people with meaningful opportunities to imagine, understand emotions, explore relationships, and make sense of everyday experiences.

Our Storytelling sessions use age-appropriate stories, characters, visual supports, puppets, role play, and interactive activities to encourage language, listening, attention, comprehension, imagination, perspective-taking, social understanding, and emotional learning.

Stories can also be used to explore everyday themes such as friendship, kindness, problem-solving, emotions, communication, confidence, and coping with change. Interactive storytelling encourages individuals to participate rather than simply listen.

Pranic Healing

Pranic Healing is offered at Urjabodh as a complementary wellness practice that focuses on relaxation, energy awareness, and overall well-being.

Sessions provide a calm and structured environment where individuals can engage in practices intended to promote relaxation, mindfulness, self-awareness, and a sense of well-being.

It is offered as a complementary approach and does not replace medical treatment, psychological intervention, or other clinically indicated care.

Homeopathy with Neuro-Efficacy

Our Homeopathy with Neuro-Efficacy offering is positioned as a complementary wellness approach within Urjabodh’s broader multidisciplinary framework.

It focuses on understanding the individual’s overall presentation and exploring complementary homeopathic support alongside appropriate developmental, therapeutic, educational, and lifestyle interventions.

At Urjabodh, complementary approaches are considered within an individualised and holistic framework, with the individual’s developmental needs, well-being, family context, and existing support systems taken into consideration. Homeopathic support is not intended to replace necessary medical care, therapeutic intervention, or professional medical advice.

An Integrated Approach to Well-being

At Urjabodh, these services do not exist in isolation. Holistic Wellness & Development brings together therapeutic, creative, movement-based, nutritional, and complementary wellness approaches according to an individual’s needs and goals.

Our aim is to create opportunities for growth across cognition, communication, emotional well-being, physical development, sensory awareness, creativity, self-care, and social participation.

Every individual’s journey is different. We strive to provide individualised, strengths-based, respectful, and meaningful experiences that help each person discover their abilities, build confidence, develop new skills, and participate more fully in everyday life.
